“Say It Ain’t So” - Weezer, 1995 on Letterman

Man, I miss the old Weezer.  I love this performance for so many reasons.  I love that look of complete discomfort and how un-rockstar-esque Rivers looks.  Even after the album sold over 2 million copies, it seems like he still wasn’t sure if he wanted to be a rockstar or not.  And it’s that extreme level of discomfort and unintentional humility that defined Weezer, made them so great, at least for me anyways.  You watch Rivers now… he just seems like such a douche, all comfortable with himself and what not.  Come back, unsure, nerdy, Harvard student Rivers.
